Install to Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http dbpedia https://gateway.pipeworx.io/dbpedia/mcp

Summary

Server An MCP server for querying DBpedia, the structured knowledge extracted from Wikipedia.

Connect from your MCP client

Claude Code

Run this once and Claude Code registers the server for you:

claude mcp add --transport http dbpedia https://gateway.pipeworx.io/dbpedia/mcp

Claude Desktop

Add this to claude_desktop_config.json under Settings → Developer → Edit Config:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "dbpedia": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "mcp-remote",
        "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/dbpedia/mcp"
      ]
    }
  }
}

Cursor

Add this to .cursor/mcp.json in your project (or ~/.cursor/mcp.json for all projects):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "dbpedia": {
      "url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/dbpedia/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Cline and other MCP clients

Most MCP clients accept the standard mcpServers JSON block:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "dbpedia": {
      "url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/dbpedia/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Codex CLI

Codex CLI connects to remote servers via config.toml — add this block to ~/.codex/config.toml:

# ~/.codex/config.toml
[mcp_servers.dbpedia]
url = "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/dbpedia/mcp"

OpenClaw

OpenClaw reads MCP servers from the mcp.servers section of ~/.openclaw/openclaw.json (managed via `openclaw mcp add` or the mcporter skill):

{
  "mcp": {
    "servers": {
      "dbpedia": {
        "url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/dbpedia/mcp",
        "transport": "streamable-http"
      }
    }
  }
}

mcp-dbpedia

DBpedia MCP — SPARQL + Lookup over Wikipedia-derived structured data

Part of Pipeworx — an MCP gateway connecting AI agents to 965+ live data sources.

Tools

| Tool | Description | |------|-------------| | lookup | DBpedia Lookup search — find entities by label or alias. | | sparql | Execute a SPARQL query against the DBpedia public endpoint. | | resource | Fetch all triples about a DBpedia resource. | | abstract | Fetch a prose summary for a topic label (e.g. "Eiffel Tower") using Wikipedia\'s REST summary endpoint as fallback; returns title, extract text, and source URL. |

Quick Start

Add to your MCP client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "dbpedia": {
      "url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/dbpedia/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Or connect to the full Pipeworx gateway for access to all 965+ data sources:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "pipeworx": {
      "url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Using with ask_pipeworx

Instead of calling tools directly, you can ask questions in plain English:

ask_pipeworx({ question: "your question about Dbpedia data" })

The gateway picks the right tool and fills the arguments automatically.
